Default DeTango - does the oven smell .......

...... just wondering if I'll need to invest in some scrubbing time as well as a new baking tray to keep my other half happy ........ lol

No it doesn't. The mastik will try to go everywhere when you split the two halves so cover the floor/table with something unimportant.

make sure they are in for at least 15 minutes on 220oc

Or you can remove 'Risk of melting' from the equation completely by using a heat gun.

I would suggest 220c is way too hot, I think I did mine at more like 50c. You don't want to get the sealent too runny as you will get it everywhere. Try and keep it away from the reflector, it won't be easy to get it off without marking it. Also wear clean gloves to avoid any finger prints.

I really want to do this mod but am worried about the whole oven heating thing .......... anyone live near bristol ??

Its also worth putting masking or insulating tape on the bumper below the light - the light is held in the wing with a couple of fasteners which take a good pull to release and the bumper can get marked.

I was worried too but really there is nothing to it. Very low oven, if it doesn't split after 5 mins give it a bit longer, if it still doesn't split give it a bit longer etc etc until it does. And it will, we promise.
