Default fuel gauge reads wrong help

i have a problem with my fuel gauge my 96 wrx apart from the fact it goes down to fast lol
what it is that when it gets to half a tank infact its nearyl empty any clues how to fix anyone else had this problem

Quite likely the sender in the tank is stuck/snagged.

Should add, IF the fuel pump has been replaced, wouldn't think it would get stuck otherwise.

If it isn't then it's electrical or the actual gauge itself.

There are two fuel senders; one for each side of the fuel tank. They are under the rear seat base.

One sticking, going faulty or a bad connection will cause an inaccurate guage reading.

what do u think have the seat up and give the wires a wiggle how can i check for a faulty one thanks for the help by the way
