Default help a dumbass newbie out please!!

i just bought a wrx but i am in need of some help, the kid i bought it off didnt kno what was done to it so im on a mission to discover what is done. there is a greddy boost gauge and a greddy turbo meter which is in the driver footwell. the kid said he thoguth it was a turbo timer but its not. if anyone can help me out it would be very appreciated as i have not a lot of knowledge on these things ( as u prob can tell) it has an on/off switch, warning light, and what looks like a little allen key type hole to adjust up or down. im guessing this is adjustable boost gauge as when i turn it on it puts the boost gauge up right to 1.5, the car is only running 0.5 . sorry for such a vague description

Sounds like a boost controller to me. When I turn my boost controller off, then the turbo only produces 0.5 bar.
Is your car running a standard turbo and no mods?? If so then 1.5bar is very high with no supporting mods.
Would be advisable to adjust it down to 1.2bar for the time being.
