non starter sti

Default non starter sti

hello everyone my 95 sti wont run it starts for 1 or 2 secs and sounds spot on then cuts out and if i try rev it it also cuts out no codes are showing up on ecu test any ideas as what this could be

it stayed running for bout 2 mins but lumpy then when i try rev it cuts out

sounds like an air leak/ vacuum hose not connected

check for fuel pressure or air leaks
is the car new to you?
Did it start after filling with fuel/a spirited drive etc ?
any more details

fit cdb short engine timing is correct hoses are correct fuel getting to engine got spark on all four

that was first time and i took heads back recon place for other head repair valves etc on compression test this time 140 90 110 110 the only thing i did nt do is replace steel head gaskets because i thought i could re use them cos in first build it only ran lumpy for 5 mins so when i rebuilt this time i re used them do think this is the problem thanks for everyones one help. jolly green monster bet your getting well p****d off with me lol

compressions not that ok then,

However the above sounds more related to wiring, sensor, etc ?

Is it fuel starvation?
sounds like it to me

have you got a fuel filter on?

dose your fuel pump work ok?

have you got a fuel leak?

Just some pionts to look at?

not at all.. compression figures not great..

are injectors plugged black to rear injectors, same with coilpacks?

90psi on the lowest cylinder will be enough to fire that cylinder,even though it should be around the 150psi mark.

yeah on mine back ones are dark gray and front light gray, coilpacks are black to rear and gray to front i took all my injectors out and cleaned em up all had fuel in there well puzzled

if engine hasn't run then compression could just be down to cold engine and rings not sealed properly yet..

you need to be looking at something that effect everything.. ie. crank sensor..
and individual item won't be the issue.. ie. if an injector was not working it would run on 3 or even 2.. I had a cambelt jump 2teeth on the crank for example and it still ran just misfired on two cylinders at idle.

it started today ran but would rev to good left it running ten mins pulled off breather to rocker cover it sprayed bit of water out and was bit mayo i used my steel head gaskets again cos first time it did nt run when i had valve problem and thought i could re use them silly me so gonna lift it out again this week and get some more gaskets

holy cow..

first double check the turbo water and oil returns are correct, ie. oil and water not swapped.. unusual for the gaskets to leak at idle etc.. even is reused.

hi checked em today they are right so got it ready to lift out wed tea with my mates hiab works a treat getting good at this now lol ordered new gaskets today aswell should have it running by friday sat

car starts and ticks over just wont rev when i do it cuts out same as before could it be throttle position sensor
