Default APEXi Question

Hi
My car is still fubared has been for a while now see other posts
Question is I bought a new Z32 MAF and swapped for the one fitted as I was told that might be the problem but the car is still the same.
Can I tell on the APEXi commander unit if the MAF is faulty, cluthing at straws here hoping that both could be faulty . Otherwise I might just got the car crushed

back tracking here..

what is the spec?

I assume it was running fine and then all of a sudden not?

someone played with commander?

no offence to Garage but they don't sound like experts if they still have the car and have not come to the conclusion of the problem and you are posting asking on here.

Don't know any of the other stuff you've had problems with, but you can read off the MAF voltages quite easily with the commander. My standard MY98 MAF was reading between 4 and 5 volts on full boost and wide open throttle, idling around 1v. Now I've swapped to a Z32 MAF and had it remapped it's fully flowing at nearer 4 volts than 5.

does the car drive fine to the 0.5bar? is so then:

is the wastegate to actuator bar connected?

remove the pipe from the actuator and very carefully drive it to see if you get boost beyond 0.5bar.. if you don't then actuator, wastegate or turbo need examining..

Hi Thanks guys

Try to answer a couple of points
1. Car is running a AndyF18G + forged/steel internals and STi4 heads with all the supporting mods inj's fuel pump, front mount e.t.c, just a dawes for boost control though.
2. Yes car was driving A1 before the problem started
3. Hmmm I dont think anyone has changed settings with the commander but I suppose it is possible that someone else did, though as the car was running fine 1 sec and crap the next I'm not sure its this.
4. If the voltage is reading correctly on the Commander does this mean that the MAF is defo working correctly.

Thanks for the help I really do appreciate it.

standard injectors? is so, plug the original ecu in.. does it drive the same.. be very careful but you can then eliminate someone playing on the commander.

does it drive fine to 0.5bar and then stutter of just not boost higher?

Hi

inj's are 550's

The car drives fine to about 0.5 more like 0.43 then it stutters/stops accelerating and wont make anymore boost well it will but it feels like you're killling the car and only goes up by 0.1/0.2 bar, it really seems to struggle. Knock it up a gear and keep below about 0.43 though and it drives fine.

I will try taking the actuator bar off on the weekend see if that makes any difference.

Again thanks For all the help

Sounds like an air problem to me. Either its running lean due to pulling in air after the metered air or a hose is closing up.
