Default How much Boost can I run?

Hi Guys, looking for some advice.

Bought a standard 53 plate STI8 type uk recently, wich aint got the PPP.
Decided to mod it myself. Have fitted the following:
Blitz SUS filter
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Blitz Nur spec r cat back system
HKS super sqv blow off valve
I am waiting on a Greddy profec B spec II boost controler from the states.
My question is,
What boost can I run safely without anything going pop? And what kind of hp can I expect to see on the rollers after these mods.
The car is always run on shell V-power.
Cheers
Jon

Just wondered what 2 settings to set the boost at on the controller when it arrives.
Cheers

I stand to be corrected, but I wouldn't have thought a non-sti PPP would be anything like 1.4bar. Better to be conservative and er on the side of caution prior to the remap I'd say!

What boost would you suggest? it is an STI, just hasn't got the PPP.

The standard engine will handle 1.5 - 1.6 bar of boost safely providing it has been mapped properly, I would not adjust the boost and leave this to the pro's when you get it mapped.

My old sti run 1.55 bar and peaked at 1.57 in 6th. The 650 injectors were maxed out at this point though

Jon

you need a sports cat down pipe, prodrive ones are good off a PPP
don't bother with blitz filter you don't need it with a standard vf35 turbo, sell it get a panel filter (sti 8 flow good air )
don't bother with boost controller not needed !

get a remap along with your uprated fuel pump and exhaust you can pull about 1.5 bar tailering off to 1.25 should give 330 bhp/330 lbs torque
your injectors and engine will coupe no problem !

its not just the boost that makes your car faster, the fueling ,timing ,wastegate and so on need to be changed.........

upping boost without the above changing will cost you a new engine !

mine is as above uk 53plate sti with s/steel headers and made 351 bhp and 345lbs of torque.

if you want it mapped , mail me for a good price off a highly reccomended mapper
