My car is idling , popping and banging like a pig. Just running like a sack of shi to be honest. Story goes like this. Bought a 1994 WRX ecu from fleabay that had the socket to plug an ESL chip directly in as mine didnt as it had another UNKNOWN chip in it.

Rebuild the engine and she starts and runs... ISH!!

Now when i disconnected the MAF she died... so i started it back up and she ran SPOT ON!!! idled slightly high but reved perfect.. As soon as i plugged it back it she ran like a pig...

So you think its the duff ECU or the MAF... im getting zero codes, only when i disconnect the MAF!! and iv tried it with and without the ESL chip. Both identical..

off the top of my head i cannot remember.. but it was from a 94 wrx...

I doubt its gonna be the ECU or MAF. More likely something done on the rebuild. Check everything and start from scratch.

nah it cant be.. cos as i said when you disconnect the MAF it runs perfect and revs perfect....

your first post said when you disconnected the MAF it dies.
Now you say when you disconnet the MAF it runs fine ?

sorry. i had another post based on the car not running 100%

When i disconnected it, it died. restarted it straight away and she ran 100% spot on... While she was running correct i plugged the maf back in and she ran like a sack of ****...

Andy made me a map to suits the mods i have.
