Default ticking.

I got the car on saturday.

The next service is really due now. because the last service was nearly 10k ago.

Bit confused really

The engine runs bloody well. i mean its bloody well nippy. in the car u cant hear any little ticky noises at all. when u listen from the vent u can hear like tappy noise. sounds like tappets .

As i sed when your in the car u cant hear nothin at all. runs well. ive checked the oil now and its black as black can be. which i sed to myself i service it tuesday.etc

When i rev the car abit the tappy goes away. i was like strange really only on idle thats all. when say your seating at traffics lights cars warm u cant hear nothin really. just the scooby sound and u rev it and sounds lovely.listen in the vents like a ticky tappy sound which sort of goes when u rev.

But the car goes lovely like **** off shovel. like scarey fast.

Starts on one click of the key and idles around 800rpm when warm

So what you guys recon just service it and see how i get on..

Its Impreza V reg 2000 model

Anyone got any tips???

Cheers dave

it sounds like tat tat tat. sort of sound.

I mean the speed is unreal. coming from a saxo vts to this its lot different lol

only thing that concerns me is that noise.

gonna do a service asap.(Which it 100% needs the oil is black. last service at 81k..... now the cars at 92k now)

As i sed when drivin around u cant hear nothin until u get outside the car and get close to the bonnet????

Also starts on first click off the key and idles around 800rpm. when warm.

So ive heard the forged Wiseco Piston can sometimes make a noise its just the way it is so i heard. as long as the noise is normal then i am ok.

All subura sound a bit rough i think anyway. You recon must subura engines are a little tappy here and there as they are a high proformance sports car.

bloody boost up well to . i was ******* hell everytime.

Do subura have like have adjustable tappets or u got to replace em etcetc......

When i am driving around its sounds to me how a scooby sould be to be honest.

anyone else have any ideas
Anyone shed some light on the matter

Cheers All

Dave

it will be - just make sure you don't wrap the car up from not being use to power delivery and handling etc.

Also expect some feedback on your spelling and grammar!

yeah I would agree on the injectors, also the boost solenoid (offside) can be clicky and the purge control valve on the nr side can click as well. Changing the oil and filter I think is your no 1 priority.

For your amusment do a search on here for the oil change procedure. The one started by PSLEWIS is good........

I pop in my local subura dealer well aint really local to be honest 40 miles away

i had someone from the workshop(Garage) in the subura place take a look

when we was both walking to the car i was crapping myself. I opened up the bonnet and started her up. i was like please god be ok

He sed the only problem i can hear is maybe a little tappet where your oil is rubbish. he sed give it a good fresh oil change, oil filter, Spark plugs and fuel filter aswell. then he sed the tappet should be gone. Then this ticking noise is basically what i was worried about and he then sed it was the injectors making that noise. he sed they do tick alot. he sed that how a subura should sound....

i was like there no big end noise and anythink that sounds fatal. he was like nope everythink seems ok apart from the injectors. but then he sed some are lot more louder and some are quiter.depends on the car. ticking is ok he sed least it tells you there working

Subura parts some plugs, oil filter, fuel filter £95 thank you very much.
