While tinkering with the car this evening i have picked up an annoying rattle(god knows where it is coming from), but anyway.

While slightly revving the engine from under the bonnet i could hear the boost solinoid ticking. It is silent on idle but as soon as you touch the throttle at all it starts ticking. Is that normal? I only ask as i have never noticed it before!

My old boost solenoid did that from the moment I bought the car, it had been bypassed using a manual boost guage. Turns out it was faulty and I have a new one fitted now that doesn't tick and seems to be working fine

Did you notice any difference in the car with the new one fitted?

Yeah, it's happier boosting low down now but I've had a problem since I got the car with it stalling a bit at 4-5k rpm. With the new solenoid I'm getting it boosting at about 0.9 bar now, it wouldn't go above 0.4 with the old clicky one

Where did you get yours from and if you dont mind me asking, how much?

It was from someone on here, just put a note in the Wanted section but make sure you list whether it's the 2 or 3 port solenoid you're after
