Default how do i make my scooby faster??

hi ya all, i have newly purchased my first scooby,a 95 impreza wrx import runnin what i assume is standard boost an tuning.im interested in makein it go faster, not nutty fast but a sencible fast like the equivelent of a stage 1 or that sort of level to raise the boost higher(safely) but not causing a major strain on the engine.i have a straight through exaust and big induction kit already. can anyone advise me what sort of mods i would need to go for next. any response`s would be much abliged......scott

I've got a 95 WRX with a full de cat exust down and up pipes, air filter, Front mount intercooler and a scooby ecu re-mapp runnin 305bhp . U can get upto 340bhp and still use the original intercooler.

Esxboy, strange question but i have a 95 WRX as well ,can you tell me at what rpm you start getting boost and roughly when full boost,i only ask as mine starts to spool up at about 3000/3500 and full boost around the 4500 to 5000rpm mark.I also have full decat system,HKS induction,Superchip.

I/C Samco Y-Piece and DIY ported exhaust headers will give big gains, especially with spool-up response, boost threshold, etc. and will also drop charge temps...if not done already.

While thats true that the best way to get the optimum out of your car would be a custom map, its not really cost efficient. I think I'm right in saying scoobyclinic charge about £600 to remap a scoobyecu for an early classic. ESL will do you an off the shelf chip for £195 which with a decat and decent induction will give you about 280bhp straight away. IMHO its not worth a custom remap untill you make a few more mods to the car as its tough to justify the rediculous cost. (In any case if you do want a custom remap your better off getting an apexi power FC and replacing your ECU with that for the remap).
