if you can swap the sti ecu with the wrx ecu then the result would probably be shards of metal over the engine bay, a few pools of various liquids and the need for a healthy bank balance (although it wont be healthy for long)

Depending on your location there are various mappers out there for Ecutek AndyF, Bob Rawle, Zen (I think they do ecutek), Scoobyclinic

I think there is a grp buy on here at the moment. Think you would be looking at around £600 ish for the first remap (a lot of this cost is for the ecutek license that you need)

Unlikely.

The license costs £150+VAT, the rest is the mappers fee which on Ecutek is generally a little higher than other mapping systems due to the cost of the software.

There are other ways of mapping your ecu but many people still regard these as untested and unsafe.

Thanks everyone

So, is the STi ECU any use to me? If not what will i be able to get for it?

What are the mappers likely to carge and do i need to do anything else before i get one in?

The STI ecu you have is pointless, so i suggest getting rid of it for what you paid.

The prices for mapping have already been stated above, that is what youll pay. The end result will be dependant on what mods you have done to the car. Simple as that.

Neilo, is that not just the license fee?

I paid nothing for the STi one! Whats it worth?

the £600 figure is the licence AND map, so depending on what deals there are around this figure can range from 500 to 750 ish.

The ecu is essentially identical to yours, its only worth something to somebody that needs one as a backup.....this very rarely happens so cant really put a price on it, did you buy it? or aquire it?

Id suggest contacting Andy F, hes based in edinburgh, so is geographically closest to you.

If it cost you nothing, keep it and monitor wanted adds for anyone wanting a tek3able ECU
