Default 400 bhp wanted

hi right i have a 96 wrx the spec is;

ej 20 engine fully rebuilt by sep with
forged cosworth pistons ,
ported heads,
lightened and balanced fly wheel,
newcrank.
td05 20g turbo with 90deg samco
550 jecs injectors
walbro 255
hks headers and up pipe
magnex twin decat exhaust
sti 8 intercooler and scoop
hks 3 boost controller
esl custom mapped ecu (done on pts rollers)
exedy organic clutch
apexi panel filter
ngk 7's
delalarm

what sort of boost would i need to run and is there anything else i require?
any help would be great, cheers rob

you havent mentioned if there is any fueling mods apart from the 550s.. you would need a uprated fuel pump (walbro??), fuel pressure regulator... have you done those too anyways?

and a bigger turbo to make sure you actually get there.....

and the panel filter "probably" wont help it either, proper induction will help you get there easier.

yeah just added the walbro, got a fse regulator on the way too, induction side of things im not sure which way to go if i go induction kit will heat soak remove the improvements? as i have a k&n waitng to be fitted

get an in wing induction kit and problem solved...not sure who makes them for a 96 car though....

If you fit an induction kit you'll need to shield it from the engine bay heat and also make sure there's a good cold air feed, or get one that'll feed from the inner wing area, but that'll require you to get a mappable ecu so that the MAF can be rescaled to allow for the change in airflow.

STi Top mount might struggle to flow / cool the air needed for 400 BHP

aps it'll be then thanks for the help, any idea on rough boost pressure needed? thinking 1.5-1.6 bar

on a bigger turbo yeah.....not sure APS do one for a 96 car, i know they stopped making them for 99 cars, so they may only make them for newage cars now.
