ECUTEK3 reset when changing batterie?

Default ECUTEK3 reset when changing batterie?

will my ECUTEK3 data be lost if i change my batterie and reset the ecu??

i know is might be a stubid question

No. It can only be reset by reflashing the ecu, so you'll be fine.

thanks but what does reflashing the ecu mean?

Changed my battery 03STI. All I had to reset was the rev warning light and the radio to get radio 2 (cos I like Wogan - sad I know).

you can reset the ecu yes. Its done by disconnecting the battery for a while, then reconnecting it and then driving the car holding a preset boost level through the revs. usually 0.5bar or 1 bar.

I did this only last week.

more to the point i was correctly the second poster by saying that you dont need to reflash the ecu to reset it.

The map parameters in the ECU can only be overwritten by flashing (ie writing new data) to it.

The ECU can be reset, but that doesnt change your fueling map set by an ecutek map.

So talking about resetting the ECU was completely out of context for the question in the thread and probably confused the original poster.

Oh.. and if you're listening to Wogan I doubt you'll need the shift change light set to more than 3.5k
