Yep..

it would be worth while getting a non-PPP ecu and selling on the PPP and remapping the non-PPP ecu.. otherwise you will overwrite the PPP code within the ecu.. no problem just throwing away money that you could make on selling the ecu

In a word yes.
Ecutek remap is specific to your car (as opposed to ppp map).
I started with ppp; then had remap via tsl (333 bhp with just panel filter).

yes it was the original ppp ecu that was remapped.
TSL are not the only company that can do your remap. There are plenty out there depending on where you are (powerstation / Zen/ WRC etc)
You have to pay for the license so your first remap will be the expensive one (circa £600.00)

I would personally go to either Bob Rawle (where I'm going next week ) or Andy Forrest (who did my last remap) over the likes of TSL.

had my ppp remaped by andy forrest (andy.f on here) but i'd changed to a 3" turbo back exhaust an wing induction which made 357bhp and 320 torque and on a rr made 353bhp and 319 torque. and its a vast improvement over ppp.

Not sure who TSL use for mapping now though? As Richard Bulmar runs his own place now. They may still use Richard, but i don't know for sure.
I have used Richard recently again, and unless i get my car remapped by someone else i will never know what could be different!
Bummer really, would be ace to be able to swap between their maps to see which you would prefer.
