Default Loud noise between 2-4000 rpm which sounds like someone blowing over top of a bottle.

hi there - this has probably been explained countless times before but i would appreciate it if someone would tell me what causes this problem and how i can get it fixed. thanks.

This was taken from a website i found - however it does not say what it is that is actually at fault and how i go about getting it fiexed.can anyone shed some light on what i need to do.has anyone else experienced this????? my car is the 1998 model and i do have a forge dump valve fitted. help!!!!!!!!

There seems to be a recognised problem with the 1997 specification car's dump valve. This does not shut properly under boost and thus vibrates giving the sound similar to someone blowing across the top of an open bottle. It has also been likened to a steam train whistle or ship fog horn in extreme circumstances!. Meanwhile the 1998 model seems to have a totally revamped and larger blow off system, but I have had reports that the problem sometimes still occurs.

NO, should it have. I was told that it could be a worn spring and that if u adjust the tension in the spring it will only blow off at a higher pressure
