got a impreza wrx 1993 model... popped a piston a few weeks ago...
and it's just been rebuilt. mechanically the engine is perfect now - then engine management light came on... but it aint boosting.
It's in limp mode - reset the ecu.. the light went off. ther is a slight miss but thats due to lump ride in safe mode.
checked tha maf and thats cool, also unplugged the boost solenoid which was fitted a few months. but i'm gonna replace that just to make sure.
also changed a coil pack which was cracked and meant it was running on 3 cyl.
the ecu is fiited with a powerchip, so i plan on sending the ecu to back to Collins for them to check it -before i go and get another ecu.
It may have retarded the timing. then it's going into the workshop for a full on check - every sensor.
cos the work on the rebuild was carried out by a different company - they are blaming the ecu.. maybe/maybe not.
anyone had similar problems after a rebuild? it may just be a loose connection some where. will also check for fault codes.
