Default K&N cone filter or HKS sponge (mushroom form)

i only have this 2 options. Hks is expensive than K&N but let suposse the money is not important.

My car is a impreza gt 98.

hks is expensive crap. It may give you a few bhp more, but it is not very good at filtration.

So you say K&N has better filtration but more restrictive than the HKS?

wich one would you buy??

The K&N iprovides good air flow but more importantly has better filteration thank the HKS. I personally moved from a HKS to a K&N to save my maf sensor!

Definately agree with the above. I changed from a HKS to an Apexi on my Skyline, made a world of difference. The MAF sensor was caked in crap when I took the HKS off, didn't get any thing on it with the Apexi.

Agree with the above,, all the jap filters are rubbish when it comes to filtration. The worst are those horrid Blitz stainless things!!!

The K&N/Green cotton gauge filters are the best out there. Very good filtration and very good airflow. WRC teams use the green filters, Andy forrest runs a K&N, as does the Roger Clark cars and Zen performance.

Got given a Blitz one and although it's brand new I'm affraid of fitting it as I've heard many horror stories!!!!!!!
Which would you all reckon for my 97 uk turbo (Slightly modified!!!!!!!)

Default agree with above but.....

whats the best vent to but when using the k&n? i have the cold air pipe but been advised to replace my vent. been told i can get a add on piece and not replace the origanal vent. where are these avaliable from?
