Consequences of too much oil?
Had my MY99 Impreza Turbo serviced recently.
I now find that the garage have c**ked up and put in 6 litres oil!!!
Could someone give me the likely problems that this is likely to cause.

I think the oil will get sucked into the in take via the breather pipes. not a good thing as it will go all over your turbo and in the intercooler, lots of blue smoke me thinks.

Too much oil can mean the crank can slosh it all about causes heat from the friction and the oil loses its "goodness" quicker plus all the bad things about having increased temps (locally) plus other things that I am sure other people will come along and mention.

Just drain it yourself and fill with a quality synthetic oil. Don't use that garage again. No harm in giving the garage a call and asking politely if they will rectify the problem.
I suspect they won't and to be honest, I wouldn't let them near my car again anyway!

Foaming, crankcase pressurisation, flooding of breathers and oil separators with oil and oil contamination of inlet tract.
Worse case it blows a seal somewhere.

"worst" case is it contaminates your boost control solenoid, allowing over-boost and blowing engine!!!
