Default TD05/06-20G

Im starting to plan some modifications for my almost standard MY00 and want to try and future proof myself a little.

Ive been thinking about VF28/VF34's but would a TD05/06-20G be usable at say 250-300 until i get the supporting mods on the car?

pointless adding a 20g without supporting mods as it will just have lots of lag, when tuned full boost is around 3400-4000rpm and you wouldnt even come close to getting boost by then, plus it wont be able to run much boost so it wont pull to well either

Totally agree.
I have a 20g on an Sti v3 with all the right supports and map and you need to drive it carefully to aviod lagg (which is not too bad to be honest, but is there)
Can I suggest you talk to Andy Forrest about your options?

Have you considered selling and buying an STi? You may spend less.

I havent actually, the problem is i dont have the cash right now to use to buy an STI once the UK Turbo is sold.

I do have little bits of money every now and again that i can put towards mods.

Other than the engine internals, what differences are there between a UK Turbo and STI?

p1prodrive, I saw your VF28 actually, thinking about it or a VF34 actually.

Cams/injectors/ecu/turbo/intercooler system but that is probably enough to do the job, and a red line of 8000+ helps too...

Agree Andy-after months of research I've decided to go with this on my Newage rather than the 20g. Much better for "road use" I'm told and by Saturday night should have a fair idea.....................

The VF34 is an excellent Turbo to go on a standard UK classic.

I had one of these put on my 99 RB5 and it transformed the car.

You'll seee a good 350bhp from that. The block should cope but treat your gearbox with care.
