I pick the car up sometime next week, I noticed it wasnt moveing and the the garage is going to check it out, but just wondered if it didnt move because nothing was getting hot and wasnt ment to or if it should allways move slighty would have thought it would move slightly no matter.

If this is an exhaust gas tempreture gauge what sort of reading would u expect it to read after say a 10min trip, because it didnt seem to move much off the 5 maybe 6 mark.

Anyone have any ideas on this? Bin told may be a water temp gauge, but didnt move much off the 5 mark which is 50 degrees c after a 10 min trip, would this be the case or would it be expected to move slightly higher?

I would guess at oil temp given that it reads to 150deg. egt would go much higher probably as high as 1200deg.

Did you use much boost?

After 10 mins my newage would be about 10-15 degrees C hotter than that.

Put my foot down abit but was on test drive so couldnt to much, its just done it 1000 run in miles after engine re-build to. The dials x 10 so its min reading is 50 degrees c so registers anything hotter than that. It moved slightly off the pin, couple of mill or so.
