Dials
Does anyone know what this dial takes a tempreture reading of or is it universal? Just bought a P1 and this one of the dials, maybe its not ment to unless somethings goin wrong but wud av thort it would move abit if was working correctly. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c3...83/hksdial.jpg |
cant you just trace the wiring back? or look for any after market sensor on the engine if u find one try putting it to earth and see if it moves or do a conternuity test on it?
I pick the car up sometime next week, I noticed it wasnt moveing and the the garage is going to check it out, but just wondered if it didnt move because nothing was getting hot and wasnt ment to or if it should allways move slighty would have thought it would move slightly no matter.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what this type of dial should be takeing a tempreture reading off?
whats it read in? is it for temperature
yer its for temp, reads in c, says x10 oC (centrigrade) You can see in the pic in small wrighting. |
Exhaust temp maybe??
agreed looks like a egt gauge
If this is an exhaust gas tempreture gauge what sort of reading would u expect it to read after say a 10min trip, because it didnt seem to move much off the 5 maybe 6 mark.
Anyone have any ideas on this? Bin told may be a water temp gauge, but didnt move much off the 5 mark which is 50 degrees c after a 10 min trip, would this be the case or would it be expected to move slightly higher?
I would guess at oil temp given that it reads to 150deg. egt would go much higher probably as high as 1200deg.
What would oil temp be upto after say a 10 min steady test drive, didnt hardly move off the 5 mark (50 degree c)
Did you use much boost?
After 10 mins my newage would be about 10-15 degrees C hotter than that. |
Put my foot down abit but was on test drive so couldnt to much, its just done it 1000 run in miles after engine re-build to. The dials x 10 so its min reading is 50 degrees c so registers anything hotter than that. It moved slightly off the pin, couple of mill or so. |
