Default Massive Overboost then now No Boost

Car is a MY00 UK

STi Iintercooler, Full Decat, PPP ECU, Ported Headers

Driving last night in 5th Gear I accelerated and the boost went up to 1.7 Bar, but it only did it if i feathered the throttle

Then the boost dropped, and now I have no boost at all, the needle on the boost guage sits at 0

Any ideas, just recently fitted a brand new MAF, AFR's are fine, and so is Oil Pressure etc

Nope, not blown the pipe off the guage

the needle does move, but the car doesnt, there is definatly no boost at all from the turbo/engine/ecu

is it richer then hell, does your tailpipe look like its been in Hemel Hempstead?
pops? bangs? flames?

I would expect that a blown I/C pipe would have similar sort of symptoms?

Nope no richer than normal, if anything on WOT it was probably leaner than normal with no boost, but I guess thats cos it didnt need to throw fuel at the engine
, tailpipe looks like that anyway cos I aint cleaned it for a bit :P

I do get the odd flame, pop and bang, but nothing more than usual

the air has passed the MAF, so your ECU will add sufficient fuel for that amount of air, only its leaking all over the place, so the fuel goes in the engine as usual but the air does not. Richer than hell.

to give you an empirical idea:
my "normal" cruise afr is 15.4:1
when I bust an I/C pipe my cruise afr went up to 11.5:1

I wont mention what afr I hit under boost

Ok ive had a look under the bonnet now, and no pipes have come off, what I did notice was a nice clean shiny bit on the actuator arm, normally with the engine off would you see it nice n shiny like that (my guess is that that part of the arm is normally inside the actuator, and is shiny and new looking cos its mostly hidden inside)

If the actuator has stuck, whats the best way of freeing it up

ok I freed it up, and went for a quick spin, its boosting now, but still overboosting, and quite erratic when I go to boot it, if i ease the throttle gently on boost, its like it should be, only happens when I floor it

Any ideas ?

sounds like the actuator is fooked mate and is sticking shut as well as open. could try the old wd40/break cleaner on it (good idea to do all your acuator pipes and the boost soleniod while your there). probalby best off getting another one.
