Default external tmic

gonna be getting a custom intercooler made up in place of the original scoop

i.e. actually remove the scoop and have the intercooler raised up in its place

has anybody done or seen this before it makes perfect sense to me ? i dont use the car much at all and it lives in a garage so rain etc isnt a problem

any advise or comments appreciated

What's going to force air through the intercooler if you remove the scoop ?

If you just 'slap' on an intercooler in place of the scoop, i doubt it will be very efficient, as the air will just pass over the top, rather than through it

Don't listen to them, sounds like an interesting plan. One thing I would do is fit an air intake temp gauge. Monitor the temps with the current intercooler and then again with the new one, that way you'll know if it works or not.

Dave.

When you say Raised up, Do you mean Vertical/Upright , protruding from the Bonett ?? in the line of the airflow. If so this would make a difference, But might be a bugger to see over
If lying flat then pointless as it will not cool the air sufficiently

thats a very good idea IMO with a mod or 2.

put it vertical, and move it to behind the bumper. market the conversion and you will be living it up for the rest of your life

Hey, you have inspired me
Lets call it a Front Mount

One bonus of protruding through the bonnet would be pipe length & a little less lag than a Fmic. Oh & Chav's could pinch it far more easily
