Strange click from the rear on reverse

Hey all, had my my03 sti scoob for just over a month now and very impressed with it too, noticed the last while that when i reverse i hear a click noise, seems to do it on both sides at the rear... any ideas?

Could be the brake pads moving in the calipers as the disc rotation reverses, or a tiny amount of slack in the drive shaft splines in the rear diff.
