Default My 93 query

I have a 93WRX do they all come with alluminum bonnets, wings, boot and i think roof. Also i have vented rear discs i thought they only come on the later models. The gearing also seem to be quite a close ratio.

here are some pics.

no i think i got the same car mate!, lite bonnet, boot etc.
mine is also red, same top strut brace and rear spolier. I love the spoiler as it is the one that they put on the special edition sti's that only 100 were made (afaik which i have found looking on internet)

Vented rear discs were standard on early WRXs - UK cars didn't get them till later.

As far as I know, only the bonnet is Ally - the boot has a big spring which makes it feel light, and the other panels are just made out of paper-thin steel.

Final drive on some early cars made gearing very low! Can just about put up with 80mph @ 4k rpm in my 93 WRX.

I have a silver 93 and a red 93

the bonnet is ally and I am sure the boot is on both

also the rear quarter pannels seem to be made of something like plastic, tap them with your finger and see what I mean !

My 93 has the aluminium bonnet and vented rear discs, but the boot is definitely thin steel. There are small areas of rust around the rubber stoppers. Aluminimium doesn't rust.

yeah silver one is a write off, just swapping all the bits over to the red one

the red one looks exactly like yours but totally standard

standard airbox, standard low lever spoiler etc

I have had the 4 pots, alloys, exhaust and type R interior changed over so far, going to get the front mount, induction kit and apexi AVCR and power FC changed soon.

then get the insurance up to access the damage

I seen yours at sainsburys last night or the night before, quite nice, but don't like the gold wheels on a red car

cheers
