my99 uk turbo MAF sensor
I'm sorry to be asking questions here that pop up so regularly, but because of how often the MAF is mentioned, trying to get what i need out of the search facility is near impossible! so, here goes.
My paranoia is starting to mount up regarding the MAF sensor as i have 80k miles on the clock and i doubt that it has ever been changed. so -

- is there a way that i can check if it is working correctly?
- what is the part number for the sensor and how much should it roughly cost?
- what is the procedure for changing the sensor?

Part number for maf off a my99/00 is 22794AA010. About £75 IIRC
Yoy will need a security Torx (star bit) to removed the MAF, or do what I did and use a normal torx bit, but snap the middle/security nipple off the torx bolt with a small screwdriver.
U can do an ECU reset but it's not really required.

Bollox to finding out if it's working correctly or not. If it has survived 80k then say thankyou very much and retire it in favour of a new one.

On the link mate it says that you can reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery.
Think i might try this but i just wondered how it would affect the alarm(subaru one with keypad).
Will it just operate as normal when i reconnect the battery as i'm not sure if the code i have for it is the correct one.
Cheers mate

Gaz,
Just disarm the alarm via the keyfob or keypad as usual. Then just disconnect the battery. The siren will beep as it loses power and when you reattach the battery connector, but it won't go off if it's been disarmed.

I knew they would have some use!
so the plan with the security torx then is to just get rid of the security bit
