Can I disconnect my pass airbag ?
MY01 WRX
As title, can I do it without messing up any of the other safety devices in the car.
If its safe to do I would do it so I could put the babyseat in the front of the car, which at the moment I cant do.
Cheers

I'd like to do this as well.
If it can't be done, could anyone explain why?
There are three options that I've come across in previous threads:
1. Remove the main airbag circuit fuse. Easy to do, but will disable the driver's bag as well, and may have other undesirable effects.
2. Disconnect the wiring to the passenger's airbag. Likewise easy to do but are there any problems with this?
3. Get it done "properly". There must surely be some way of wiring up a switch to do it properly. My Pug 206 has just such a switch and I really miss it.
Advice please!

i disconnected the passenger air bag in my classic but it did put the airbag light up. so TBH dont know if the drivers one would have worked either.

It could be possible to find/make a test harness to fit in place of the passenger airbag. That way the control module thinks everything is still ok, and the driver's airbag should still function properly. Emphasis on could and should - personally I think having anything different to how it is desinged to be in the airbag system would be a bit worrying. Although I guess, you could disconnect the whole lot and the warning light behind the dash.

I think you will find that if you do turn it off your insurance company might have something to say about it in the event of an accident
