tuning advice please
i have an rb5 prodrive with full decat and wondered what the next step is to get more power out the car. ive spoken to awd who suggested a boost controller and wallace who suggested an uprated top mount intercooler and a remap
i dont want to go changing pistons, front mount intercoolers or larger turbo's etc but am looking for more power. any ideas?

Dont know,
I miss the "rawness" that my RA had and I fancy a change again, but then Its a good car and has taken me all year to get her the way I want her, and get all the problems sorted out.
I will most likely wait till next spring/summer before I make a move as its getting too close to christmas again to start selling cars.
Trying to get rid of the wifes MX5 as she has ordered a 4x4 and it comes in 6 weeks time.....nobody wants to buy a soft top at this time of year

no not easy to sell now .two months ago and you would have been laughing.
thats a nice car you have but i know where your coming fron with the ra.
that one ive bought just doesnt seem to be as quick as my old one so the hunt for power now starts . although i must admit it is a bit of a looker compared to my green classic .i swore id never buy another one but that one just caught my eye . had my heart set on an evo or an escort cosworth

i stay at the western edge . i had my green classic 18 months ago (s300byt)
i know edwin well who has your old silver classic
had it well modded and rollered 292bhp(not bad for a uk)
sold it to a guy in comrie after all mods were taken off
do you ever do the trackdays . going to top marques on nov 28th with a few mates who have turbos and evos for a good laugh if you fancy it

so who do you let loose to mod your motor . i use to let falkland do mine but i called them today and they were talking s**t about waht i should do to the car and i aint no expert. awd i always thought were a bit rough with the stuff they did but when i talked to them they did make a bit of sense .wallace just seemed to want to remap my car to put out crazy boost !!! so whos right and whos wrong. or you best not messing with them after a certain point i.e decat and ecu.
that seemed to be as far as anyone really wanted to go when i had scooby t

Small world.
Yes, I do the track days now and again. Had the Buggy on at the last SIDC day but shes too good for that carry on and shes not as much fun as the RA or the Silver one.
You not going up tomorrow??

Awd- Good guys and I find them helpfull and honest
Most woork I do myself, bolt on stuff, gearboxes with my first scooby, all the non electronic stuff needs to be done by the folk who have the tech know how and computers,
I'm running the Uni chip just now, fitted and mapped by Dastek at Dalgety Bay.
Value for money I would say.
If I was to have it done again, then I would get Andy Forrest to Supply and Fit the APEXI ecu and go for his turbo too.
depend what power you want and if your happy to turn it into a total track/ rocket/ rally car

You want to look at the following for modification (this order is preferable )
Knocklink (deffo on a modded car)
Brakes (anything better than the standard items, be it disc/pads or new setup)
ECUTEK remap, should give you around 270bhp.

When did we mention this???
Kev, I invite you to come up sometime and see how we modify all our post 99 impreza's.
We run them on the rolling road using Deltadash as a data logging tool as well as using wideband lambda meter to monitor fuel and knock detection unit to monitor detonation. We establish a power reading and the status from the car.
We will then raise the boost level to a safe powerful level and then optimise the fueling to suit.
Hope this puts things straight....
