Default Unichip or other?

Im thinking of getting unichip for a 95 wrx wagon. I mainly want this mapped for Optimax and a little more power. But for a little more money I could get the Apexi Power FC which I could then move on to the Sti 5 TypeR when I eventually get one What would be your thoughts on this?? Please give any other options.
Thanks Mark...

You can move a unichip, just need ot get the thing remapped when you move it

Have Unichip and Dawes on my 97 wagon, mapped by PowerStation - thoroughly recommended. Never had a single problem. It's comparatively crude, but very effective.

same here - unichip +dawes on a UK MY97.

picked it up for £150 and another £200 for fitting and mapping (got 240bhp at PS)).
I have had it on the car for over 2 years with no probs.
I had it remapped last year when I put a bigger turbo and tubular headers on (280bhp at PS).

I may have it remapped again next year when I hope to get a bigger intercooler and fit a set of 480cc injectors that i have.

Its not as sophisticated as most of the other more expensive solutions but it does the job.

Trying to figure out which route to take myself!! David Wallis told me that the Scoocyecu is a bit flakey with the wagons (to do with the TD04 I believe). There was a thread a while ago about having a map made to suit the wagon, think there was enough interest but then it kind of died a death!! Perhaps we should resurrect this topic??

Yes.

(it would have helped if you posted this in the right section BTW, not a dig...)

I had a Unichip for 2 years, and apart from some teething problems with the (optional) boost controller, I was pretty happy with it.

But...

It's just a piece of hardware. What is really important is the brain/ECU interface of the guy/girl mapping it.

Regarding the scoobywagonecu (as i have named it!!), you could try dropping David Wallis or Pavlo a PM to see if there is any movement.

Any movement ?!?, I mailed both Pavlo and David about this chip a long time ago but didn't get a reply when they became available, do you mean that it is still not available ? (still want one for my '96 wagon please...)
