Default Erratic RPM reading on AVC-R with Link ECU

Does someone knows a solution for this problem? Could it be an earthing problem? If yes, what's the best place to connect the earth cables from the AVC-R? The problem was not present while running the std. ECU and appeared after switching to the Link.

P.S. The car is a MY98.

Mark.

Does it affect the Tacho? Assuming the AVC-R connects to the tacho line out of the ECU?

Having heard of these problems with MY97/98s I followed several bits of advice and cleaned up the earthing pads on the Link PCB and added an extra earth from the ECU mounting/earth point to the battery/engine block.

Do a search on 22B.

Ok this problem is on my car
the Tacho on the car is just fine i also cleaned the earthing pads of the link
I added a extra wire from the link`s earthing pads to the engine(not to the battery)

If the car is running ,the tacho shows 800 rpm and the apexi is @ 3500 rpm.(al settings on the apexi are corect)

sounds as though you have set the apexi to the wrong number of cylinders. check in etc. You should add the earth from battery negative to the ecu case lower mounting stud.

The settings of the apexi are good.
Sometimes when i start the car the apexi is normal (for about 5 seconds).

Today i add the earth from battery to the ecu case, i stil have the same problem.

Today the tacho went also mad (first time)

I have cleaned the earthing pads
i have add the earth from battery to the ecu case.
What can i do more ?

email me the exact connections you have from the apexi to the loom with pics if possible showing wiring.
