Cool

Hardy the Defi Gauges are by far the most advanced and the best looking gauges on the market I think, many people on here have ordered Defi's and ive been told that they should be arriving any day now.

You can also go for SPA which are quite good too but its the Defi look which gets my vote!

I find Autometer are pretty good.

Do you mean what make of guage or what specific guage (intake temp, etc.)??

Thumbs up

Well, IMHO, you're best off starting with a boost guage. After that it depends on your perspective. I've got a boost guage and am now looking for 3 more. The 3 I believe to be most useful, in terms of engine safety and general running are - voltmeter (tells you if your battery is on its way out), oil pressure (if it drops sharply you've got a problem and will know before the warning light comes on) and air/fuel ratio (tells you if you're lean on boost and if your pistons are going to pop). After that you could go for intake temp (hopefully prevent detting before it happens), exhaust gas temp (help you limit the risk of long term damage on 'enthusiastic' runs) and fuel pressure (make sure there's enough going in). Any help?

ah, what the gauge reads. ooh, this could turn into a right old debate!

I have a boost gauge on the blackbeast, which is nice, and rather handy, though I'd also like other gauges.

What would I go for? hmm, well;

* boost

* oil temp - which is really handy, don't want to give it a real pasting until the oil is nice and hot.

* Oil pressure - always handy to know

* AFR (air fuel ratio) - mainly as I've seen Stef's one and it just looks so cool, but guess it does give you a indictation of lean or rich mix though, so is handy.

umm, can't think of any others.

Oh, and if you want to see someone who's gone just a little overboard on the gague front then checkout this thread:

Exclamation

A.F.R. gauge - O.K. but pointless unless you have in-car control over the mixture? Or is it used as a way of detecting a fault?
