Dark Blue Mark

Help!

It doesnt sound fatal, but its getting annoying. It happens about 2500rpm when hot or cold, speeding up or slowing down. Im hoping thats not the point where the gas flow drives the turbo/ ie turbo bearings?

Sounds like its coming from either the master cyclinder or the wastegate actuator. Quite hard to accurately find it. Pretty sure its not the heat shield.

Sounds like a fanbelt screech, only a bit more metallic.

this is probably gonna sound as if I think you're stupid, which I know you're not, but have you checked that the fanbelts tight?

Not the milk bottle noise!

Ron, all the belts are fine. It is difficult to pin point, but definately not a belt. Its in the wastegate area. Wasn't doing it much this morning.

I've had this problem,
exactly the same rpm, sounded like a fan belt but more metallic.
It was a crack in the heatshield around the exhaust headers.

Hmm, might lop it off and have a look. I tried holding it down etc, but it still did it.

when he said headers he means the manifold under the cat, getting to that means taking the tray off underneath, ain't difficult though!
