as above, for all those with classic scoobs, what does your boost gauge read at max boost?

What should mine read - MY96 with st/steel centre and back and HKS panel filter.

Guys, is it possible to have a turbo checked for output performance?

The reason I ask is that I had a boost gauge fitted by Subaru on thursday but it only seems to be reading about 0.6 - 0.7 maximum. Would this indicate a lack of power from the turbo because I've read about guys getting a kick from the turbo but it's not something that I can say I've noticed a great deal or am I just used to the car now and require some mods ??!

How do you get a turbo checked and by whom?

Cheers all.

Question

Skoosh

1 bar = 14.5 psi

Have you checked to see there aren't any leaks from seals etc on the boost side of the turbo (e.g. compressor housing, intercooler connections etc) or where the gauge is attached (at both ends)?

Watch it if you have a poke around cos the turbo & surrounding area will get v. hot

My MY96 only shows about 0.74bar when running standard boost..

I think this is the correct figure too... for a 96 as it should have the TD05 on it.. hence the MY00 is higher boost as it has the smaller turbo on it..

My previous 96 also showed same figure..
