restarting

can any one tell me why it so had to start if i stall the car when the car is cold

I take it you mean hard?
Basically, it shouldnt be any harder than starting from cold (ie turn over and roars into life )

Sometimes it takes a few more revolutions to start after you stall.....Something to do with boxer engines and the way fuel lies horizontal in the heads.

i'd recommend looking at the article in car mechanics magazine, april 2003 issue on impreza diagnostics, this could be a problem with a sensor.
