Ah, this is my worry. £350 and no AFR, nor will there ever be. I'm getting more interested in DEFI everyday...

The SECS can't do oil T and P at the moment but they are producing senders that will allow it to soon. I suspect the same will be true of AFR. A sender/sensor will be required.

Defis are no cleverer; the AFR gauge still requires a sensor to be fitted. The only differences I can see are that numerous sensors (oil t and P, knock etc etc) can ultimately be fitted to SECS with all the data still being displayed on one unit as opposed to about 5 defi gauges and a knock and lambda link etc etc.

SECS gets my vote so I'm selling my Defis

But SECS only works on the standard ECU so us boyz with Link, Gems, Motec and others cannot use it.

People with the link can get all types of realtime data, data logging etc direct from the ECU with software available free from the Link website, dunno about the others though.

Cool

Many thanks for all the interest in our products, bit of an update: -

MoTeC version officially approved by MoTeC Europe very soon
We will be looking at other after market ECU's in the coming months, whatever gets the most enquiries is next on the list (Link, Gems etc.. ) together with pre '98 cars ( now we have our own Select Monitor for all pre '98 cars - Thanks TSL
Still working on sensor inputs, first will be oil temp, oil pressure ( next few weeks ) then EGT - this is available from the ECU on post '01 cars and will be added into the next software revision V6 - AFR, again if there's enough interest.
Knock indication
We have lots of ideas for future features/products

Our website now has a flash demo for basic operation of our units, and a full list of UK and worldwide distributors.

Please keep the ideas for additional features coming, if possible we will add them in.

We also aim to attend as many meets/shows e.g Japfest, as we can to demo our units, we will also offer free installation to anyone buying on the day.

Simon

Are you going to be at the Northern Big One at Lightwater valley....300 scoobs.

I have seen the pictures from Fulham71 and also downloaded the Flash demo but would like to see one "in the flesh"

Cheers

Midlife

MY01 with several "tarty mods" including Tek2, does the TeK2 matter.

Question

Simon

Said you were open to suggestion....
Just been browsing a tuning website and in particular the Blitz PowerID meter. For a mere couple of hundred quid this thing will measure 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times.

Obvioulsy such data would be massively important to me on my daily commute to work but surely it must be fairly easy (in a I-know-****-all-about-programming-these-things kind of way ) for the SECS to be programmed to do this too? At a very basic layman's level, it already measures road speed and even has a clock.....

Just a thought.

Check out Race Technology's AC-22 ... I've got one - great units that measure 0-60, 0-100, 30-70, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, acceleration/deceleration, lateral Gs - whatever you want. My only reservation about getting a SECS is that I'll have nowhere to stick the AC-22!
