Default Immobiliser code?

Hey all, new to this so please bear with me. Have a Impreza sti 2004, key fob ran out of battery so changed it but now it won't turn the immobiliser off, meaning I can't start the engine. I've read bits online about the immobiliser code but I don't have a clue what it is, is there a way to override this? Had the key checked and that's working fine. Closest dealership is 30miles away so will cost a fortune to be towed there, so hoping to avoid this if anyones any recommendations or had this problem before?

Many thanks, Sarah

Original code is normally recorded on the service book, should be a 4 digit code.

I'll have a look thanks. Do you know if its just then a case of entering the code then the key being paired again? Been at this for days trying different things, driving me mad 🤦‍♀️

Entering code will enable car to be started but you'll have to re sync the keys, there's various threads on this if you search on here, search for sigma alarm code and it'll tell you what you should hopefully need to know
