Default Dead car

Just put my car in for new steering rack, power steering pump and to get the radiator panel cut out and welded in, when the car was in the garage called to say my altenator had went while in the garage, so altenator got replaced and a new battery, I went to collect the car and all seemed fine till the next day I went out and the radio turned off then all electrics failed and no speedo while driving then the alarm was going off and it died.

Problem was these were the exact same symptoms the garage has said happened while it was in and that's why they replaced the altenator, so I'm thinking there was actually nothing wrong with altenator and somethings happened when they've done the welding or when replacing the steering components.

Anyone got any ideas?

Wiring loom that runs along the radiator support panel damaged when new panel being welded in or cut out

or blown fuse in fuse box if battery not disconnected for the welding
