Default Blob v hawk forged engines

Looking at a forged 450/500bhp Scooby in the next couple of months and heard mixed things on the hawk 2.5 lump???
Although I have seen a nice one for sale at the mo with 450bhp (forged)

Otherwise ive heard the 2.1 stroker on a blob forged rebuild is the one to go for?

Any words of wisdom before I go out and spend my hard earned?

Thanks

2.5 closed deck will be fine at 450/500 and give alot more low down grunt than a 2.0 or a 2.1. It doesnt rev as high though so really depends on what you want.

For a road car 450bhp 2.5 with a uk 6 speed is an epic combo

The engine was completely rebuilt following HG failure in 2013 but it's a sleeved/pinned block which is good for 500hp but no more.
A normal forged 2.5 with the right build might be ok at 450hp but once you start track use/quarter mile it's got to be a when not if.

Road and track/drag builds are a very very different kettle of fish.

aye, i know some folks who get a road engine, use it for race/drag then blame the builder when it blows up.

When I blew mine up I knew it was my thought, going for 5th at high revs and hitting 3rd didn’t help

Just built a 2.35 instead
