Default Short motor value?

Hi All

Apologies if in wrong section. Just looking for a bit of guidance.
I have put a new engine in the P1, stroker, closed deck, forged to handle more power.

I have the original P1 short motor available for sale. Its done about 95k miles but had a mid life rebuild. was in perfect working order when it came out of the car and being stored wrapped up in my garage.

Been trying to sell it for a while but no idea on its true value. Originally I searched Ebay for similar examples and all I could find were recon ones for £1800-2k so decided £14-1500 would be ok.

Had a few people interested but all thought the price was insane. Was told by them not to expect more than £600-650. so dropped the price accordingly. Had a few more people interested but only wanting to pay £450 and even then none followed through with purchase.

Just had another guy message about it today who though £450 was way too much and that if I had service history (I have) a movie of it running from cold (do not have) and a leak test performed (again nope) then its worth a max of £300.

I guess its only worth what someone will pay for it in the end but just wondering if I'm being mugged off by chancers or if it is really only worth say £250?

Thanks for any help

not worth huge amounts im afraid so £300 isnt too bad, will need a refresh before it goes in another car.

Sadly 300 400 odd quid Is probably all you'l get considering there's no proof or leak test. However if you would sell it and want to help keep a fellow p1 alive if be interested in it. Drop me a pm if you like.
