Default Lambda options

Hi all

Recently had my sti hatchback remapped by Andy Forrest. During the final stages of mapping the front lambda decided it had had enough and packed in. Andy managed to finish mapping and told me to just etanother sensor and reset the fault code.

Well I've now tried two sensors and still unable to reset code. Local garage don't think the lambda is getting and signal sent to it but can't see any damaged wires, is it possible Andy has turned something off during mapping and not turned it back on? Just before I pay for a recovery truck to take it to my nearest Subaru dealer (80miles away)

Cheers
Phil

What year car? What software did Andy map with?
It is possible that he turned of closed loop which would effectively disable the lambda.
Why not ring AF and ask him?

It's a 2009 hatchback, not 100% sure on software but would ecutek.
I've been in touch with him and told him fault code but he reckoned it was a faulty sensor, hence why I got a second sensor.

Ok I'm sure Andy would of said if the closed loop was turned off,he certainly knows his onions(from what I hear)tbh.
I can turn off my closed loop to tune cruise(ESL on classic)
It throws an error code as it disables the lambda.
I take it you have bought oem replacements? As aftermarket sensors are usually crap.

He definitely knows his stuff but just wondering if he forgot to turn it back on by mistake.

Unsure if genuine sensors were got as I left it up to my local garage to source them. Even if they were aftermarket surely they would have cleared the fault code even only for a while

Well you can let me know how you get on and if you get it sorted

Spoke to Andy today and he is positive nothing has been left off or missed. Going to have a bit more investigating to do then.
Blown fuse possible? Or would it effect more than just the lambda?

Cheers

If the hatch is the same a a bug/blob have you changed the right lambda bank 1 or bank 2. My bugeye lambda went few weeks after 1st map and once changed and code took off was fine. Ive never used andy f but from what ive heard and read he knows his stuff. Hope you get it sorted soon so you can enjoy your car as i doubt you have had a spirited blast since he mapped it

Slightly different I believe as bank one is in the header rather than downpipe and then bank two is the same. Bank two is mapped out as wasn't required.

Nope I've not had a spirited run at all since.

Having done some internet searching then popping out to the car to check I have learnt a few things tonight. All fuses and relays seem to be intact but the new sensor is a Bosch rather than a denso so this could be the issue

What I'm wondering now is can I reset fault code to accept the Bosch sensor or do I need to source a denso sensor, seems to be only Subaru in the U.K. that stock it. Or over seas

Cheers

Default Fixed!!!

Finally got it all fixed. Been under the car and hanging upside down in passenger footwell but I've finally got it all sorted.
1. Blown fuse
2. Short in second lambda
3. Loose pin in plug at front lambda

Now do I take it to mull rally this weekend or take trooper as planned and not worry about damaging bumpers/ splitters?
