Default New battery?

When I picked my car up it started fine. It's been on the drive for a week or so and the engine won't turn over anymore and the alarm is going off so I thought it must be flat. Took it off and put the battery on charge overnight (trickle). Woke up this morning and it was still showing no charge so I switched it to fast charge and 7 hours later there's still no charge. Just took it to the car and the battery light is dim when ignition is on. I'm thinking the batteries goosed or could it just need a longer charge?

Cheers Steve, I'm going to leave it on charge until Monday morning. I'll try it once more in the car then ordering a new one.

What battery have you ordered ? Looking to get one for my Hawkeye soon as I think mine is getting low (low enough to cause a splutter and rough few starts after several days of standing still). What would you recommend ?

They are £100 at Halfords.

Nice. Is there any noticeable difference in batteries or is it all in the name?

The "better" the battery the longer the guarantee, plus the dearer ones are usually more modern technology and higher Ah and cranking current.

Worth paying a LITTLE more for, but not worth the extra over a £50 battery if the one you want is £100.

I bought it because I found it online for £60 delivered.

Ah I see thanks for clearing that up for me. Some of the battery prices are ridiculous.

Euro car parts are usually decent prices.

I found mine looking at Halfords out of interest, then checked online and was staggered at the price difference.
