What would you recommend as a suitable Polish / Wax?

Wax Wizard stuff! Well, Swissol these days.
Zymol is 'better than the rest' of the more easily available ones (but no real comparison to Swissol).

personal choice is Auto Glym my view is if its good enough for Aston Martin then its good enough for my scooby
