Default Oil pressure

I have a pro sport oil pressure gauge. When running the car driving oil pressure is stead and up around 6/7 bar. When I'm idle or change gear clutch in it drops to about 4 is this meant to happen?

Yes, the pump has a pressure release valve, and is driven by the cambelt..

4 bar at idle is very good, when hot I get an average of 3bar at idle. or less if the car has been driven hard/tracked etc.

most sit at a little over 6bar when hot, so yes that's fine, 7 would be a peak when cold at a guess.

Sounds perfectly normal and healthy

4 bar on warm idle?

I only get about 1.8 bar at idle, using millers 10w60 nano, is there something wrong with my car?

Around 30psi sounds ok for a 740-750rpm idle. On 10/50 mine is at 35-40psi (2.35-2.68bar) but at a mapped in 900rpm idle.

The 4bar(59.5psi) is a bit unbelievable if the idle is the normal 750rpm with the engine fully warmed, but then I saw that it was on a Prosport gauge. From experience (of others Prosports) I would doubt the accuracy of that reading.
From the OP's post I would assume this is his first experience of an oil pressure gauge?
