Default Fuel Gauge Problem

I've got another question, When I fill up my WRX STI V5 with a full tank it sometimes says it has a full tank and then others it drops down to 3 quarters. Sometimes it drops a quarter lower then it truly is any ideas as I don't want to be driving one day thinking "oh it's ok its still got a quarter of a tank left then she cuts out" lol

p.s I've only had the car a week thanks

The sender in the tank might be sticking, or dirty.

It's not difficult to get at, it's under a cover under the rear seat.

before removal, check the connector from it to the main loom, it can get very dirty/corroded which = dodgy

Iv just also bought a v5, the needle dont seem to be correct. From empty i put in £20 petrol in today and it just reached a quarter tank and the needle went up very slowly to that point. I thought it would at least go up to half way between a quarter and a half

You put about 15 litres at most in, the needle isn't going to move very far.
