We are also aware that people are making repeated posts, amending signatures, locations etc to discredit this dealer.
I think you'll find the DEALER was also calling people liars. what goes around and all that

No surprise that that last thread was deleted.

But I think the dealer concerned would have difficulty proving libel as by the definition

'The legal definition of libel is a published (including broadcast) false statement that: '

As we are aware of facts to support all of the comments made, therefore not libellous at all.

This really is just restrictions on freedom of speech and information.

I'm sorry, but under UK law, the people making the statements have to prove what they are saying is true. Statements are assumed false until such time.

It may be possible for the person involved in the original issue to do so, but no proof has been forthcoming and others are jumping on the bandwagon and making clearly libellous statements.

As such, we have to act within the UK law and remove the posts. Further to that, such posts are in breach of the forum rules and we will act accordingly.

UK libel laws are pretty much the most restrictive in the world, but we must operate within them.

Just to be clear, freedom of speech does not allow you to make unsubstantiated defamatory comments about others.

Not often we agree Neil, but on this occassion we do!! Well put!

I would like to know why the Mods are so damn scared of this Trader.

At best I would say 99.9% of the posts have been unfavourable but certainly not Libellous! True & honest - whichis what I thought Scoobynet was about?

I thought this was a community that was for like minded people to discuss experiences & warn of potential pitfalls, helping each other out?

I have seen far worse on other forums without the heavy handedness of Monds weilding the finger over the DELETE button constantly....

Clearly there is more to this than meets the eye.......

Oh Lord.

No there is no conspiracy. No there is not more to this than meets the eye. No, we are not scared of this trader

The linked thread shows that Court cases, trading standards et al are involved so it's a completely different set of circumstances

We are simply adhering to UK law, there is no more to this than that one simple fact

As stated above

you have got it wrong, it don't magically repair itself - the water brings the engine fairies out of their hibernation and they repair the engine!
