Should've bought the metro
I'll ask Gooner to call you later - sure he'll know what to advise!

would think not much to come off. Only alternator/powersteering belt after all. so most likely just a tensioner to release...

Sprug loaded tensioner on the 1600 Zetec. Get the belt and bring it to a meet.Hardly anything needs removing.

I'll fit it for you

(I think thats why she's asking how to actually do it herself?)

Its hard to explain but if you look at the engine from the drivers side of the car you will be effectively looking at the front of the engine.

Number 7 on this pic shows the tensioner for a Zetec without aircon. The tensioner will be held in place by a bolt on a sprung arm. All you need to do is get a spanner on the bolt head and pull the tensioner back, slip on the belt and release the tension. The sprung loaded part will just set its own loading on the belt.

Sorry i cant help anymore, its hard to explain.

Item 4 in this diagram is the tensioner.
