Default Sqeeeeek gone. Grind has not !!!!

Changed RR discs and pads yesterday and the sqeek I had has gone.

BUT..........

A couple of days ago the same rr wheel started grinding when cornering hard when loading that side of the car. I found when changing brakes that the hub nut was only hand tight and I thought the brake change would cure this but oh no.......

Now Im thinking the loose nut has worn the bearing? Is there anyway of testing this before I take the hub off and attempt to change the bearing!!!! I'm thinking about getting a used hub to test?

Advice please fellow ESC'ers

Cheers Bibo

normally when the bearing goes there will be some play in the wheel. if you jack it up and try to pull / push the top and bottom and then left and right. another thing is you normally get a drone as you drive along.

Thats why Im confused.....

No play in wheel and no constant drone or knock.... I'm wondering if the 17's may have caused a rub, but its very metallic!!!!

very odd.

know this may sound a little stupid, but check the heat shields on your headers. mine used to rattle sometimes and not others.

As a result of the failed bearing, you'll need a press to replace it.

Cheers Zak,

Was going to ask the engineering co. that used to machine bits on my old mini engines if they could press it......?

BTW, sorry for not speaking to you since I got back..... I've got new Leda Coilovers being fitted next week and will need to pop down for and alignment soon....
