Default Maf Sensor

Hi All

I have had engine light on and have had it checked and found the maf sensor has gone. Ive got a new one today when i replace it will the check engine light go out on its own or do i have to do anything?

if its a classic , google how to reset the ecu using the black n green wires under the steering rack
