Default Should i be flaming?

hi guys,

i've come to you's for some help, cos if i posted this in any other area of the forum i'd get 20 ole grandads telling me flaming is bad, but as i know that alot of you guys think it is good so i hope you can help.

i've got a 02 wrx an just had a downpipe/up pipe/decat pipe and a afterburner vortex fitted.

i was guessing that having all this should make me get some flames, but at the mo i don't seem to have anything.

when its dark an i'm on my private road, i've tried dropping gears at different speed etc an been at stand still an giving it a rev but still nothing,

the car is always well warmed up too.

should i just get a flame kit? i've seen one on ebay, from a guy with really good feedback, an good info on his auction.

any advice would be great.an anyone that feels the need to tell me i'm a chav or a yob for getting one, please.......please keep your comments to yourself.....lol

if you read this mate i thought i'd let you know i'm no longer ashamed to have a standard scoob, as i've had sti spoiler fitted, rear apron-with diffuser, lowered it, all the exhaust stuff, fog covers, blobeye scoop (coming), WRC skirts.
looking super, if i may say so myself. lol

hopefully see you's at a meet soon.

I had a flamer kit supplied & fitted by Cornelius, i still had the standard dump valve & no flames , changed to a VTA dump valve & oh yes flames , the best way i seem to get flames is rev it to 5000rpm & then keep blipping the throttle at about 4000rpm

ok will do, i've been over to knowlesy a few times an he's been a great help with servicing an fitting all my exhaust bits.

so i'm guessing the science behind getting a dump valve is that it allows some air in that mixes with the unburnt fuel, which then causes "flame" MUhahahahaha

an its a VTA one that i need, not a BOV?

don't wanna sound tight but cos i've spent so much on all the exhaust bits already, what would be the best priced one to go for, i've just had a quick look on ebay, an there is a few going on there for about 40-60 quid.

BOV (Blow off valve) and VTA mean the same mate

I make flamer kits, but haven't had the time recently due to crimbo, and loads of overtime, but will get round to them!!

£60 for a full kit including fitting
