Default Driving to mapping session without maf?

Getting the car mapped soon and I have a k&n open filter and custom inlet. My mechanic stays it's not safe to drive like that as the maf can't get connected, but my mapper said that it will be fine as the closed loop system is very good.
Anyone else had this before?

air filter is an easy swap, can you not drive there on the original?

It's about 100 miles to Andy Fs. Other parts are, 800cc injectors, ra development viper td05 20g, autobahn inlet, rcm alloy trumpet and k&n, sytec fpr, walbro pump, rcm manifold and up pipe, aem truboost, sti tmic, I think that's it.

The car is pretty much standard apart from bc coil overs green panel filter and turbo back exhaust, the rest of the parts mentioned before are being fitted over the next few days for a 10 o'clock session on Thursday.

To be honest I'm not sure what is good or bad I am just going by what other people tell me. All the parts I have bought have been on the recommendations of others such as Andy f and ra development, I have been told that it's okay to drive the car through carefully and off boost and all should be well then I have others saying it's not good. I don't know who to trust as it's very difficult to get 2 people saying the same thing?

the ecu will compensate for injectors (I am assuming its an 03 sti, if its a wrx then the ecu is not going to cope well from 380cc standard to 800cc) so they are only 300cc larger, the standard ecu will cope with that, it might stall occasionally but driven off boost it should be fine. The larger turbo wont have any effect as you'll be off boost, I would stick below 3000rpm. I would stick the trumpet on, on arrival.

That's what I thought, as long as it's driven carefully it would be okay, and as you mention stick the trumpet on when we get there.
